KUWAIT: Health Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Medicine and Medical Supplies Affairs Dr Omar Al Sayyed Omar said the percentage of medicines that expire at central medical stores do not exceed 0.5 percent of total medicines that enter the warehouses each year.

He said this percentage is not considered a waste, but rather natural and may exceed that in some countries for various reasons. He said the small percentage mentioned are of strategic medicines which include vaccines for epidemics such as H1N1 and emergency medicines and supplies in the event of any catastrophes or radioactive leak. — Al-Rai
