KUWAIT: The Criminal Court, chaired by Judge Mohammad Al-Duaij, yesterday adjourned its session on case number 55/2015 on the Abdali terrorist cell with 26 defendants to December 8, to hear the final testimony.

In a closed-door session on November 5, the court listened to the testimony of defense witnesses. Two days earlier, 3 November, the court listened to testimony of the Public Prosecution, in a session that was turned into a closed-door one. Earlier, on 21 October, the court listened in a closed-door session to the testimony of medical examiners.

On a session dated 13 October, the court listened to testimony of ballistic officer. On October 6th, the tribunal listened to the criminal inspection officer in a closed-door session. On October 4th, it refused to release defendants and listened to the State Security officer, who was summoned to testify in a closed-door hearing.

Meanwhile, the court released four of the accused on a KD 500 bail each with a travel ban on them, compelling the defendants to attend next sessions. Some 26 peoples are charged in the case, all Kuwaitis, except for an Iranian.

The first hearing in the case was convened on 15 September. The Public Prosecution had called for pre-trial detention of all the suspects, accused of carrying out hostile acts against the State of Kuwait, furtive contacts with Iran and Hezbollah and the possession of firearms, guns, ammunition and tapping devices. - KUNA
