KUWAIT: Statistics issued by the Civil Services Commission (CSC) revealed that there are 10,853 job vacancies available in government bodies. Statistics showed that the vacancies include 10 for PhD holders, 23 for holders of master's degrees, 6,199 for university degree holders, 2,614 for diploma holders and 1,679 for high school graduates with two years or more of training. Other CSC statistics showed that 15,686 citizens have already registered with it, waiting to be appointed in government bodies, including 2,642 university graduates and 1,505 with diplomas.

Retroactive allowance

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has again contacted the finance ministry requesting a further amount of KD 47,575,890 to pay the retroactive rent allowance to female expat teachers. A letter signed by MoE Undersecretary Dr Haitham Al-Athari on July 26, 2016 asked the finance ministry for the extra funds to pay the teachers the difference as per CSC decision number 4/2016.

Waiting times

Farwaniya Hospital's Director Dr Hani Al-Mutairi said the hospital launched a new plan to reduce waiting times at the hospital's radiology department. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony held at the hospital to celebrate World Radiology Day, Mutairi said the hospital had been recently equipped with advanced ultrasound scanners that would help reduce waiting times from three months to only three weeks. He also noted that the waiting time for an MRI examination would be cut from six months to only four weeks.

Entry visas

The Charge d'affairs at Iraq's Embassy to Kuwait Yaseen Ibrahim Ahmed announced granting over 12,000 entry visas to Kuwaitis to commemorate the fortieth day after Imam Hussein's martyrdom.
