KUWAIT: His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace yesterday Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Yemen, Abdul-Malik Abdul Jalil Al-Mekhlafi and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of their official visit to the country.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest and means of boosting them were tackled as well as the latest development in Yemen. His Highness the Crown Prince wished Yemen sustainable security and peace. The meeting was attended by acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and head of His Highness the Crown Prince's Protocols Sheikh Mubarak Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.

Gulf initiative

Meanwhile, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled reiterated during a meeting held later yesterday with his Yemeni counterpart Kuwait's firm stance calling for the full implementation of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the output of national dialogue and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 in order to restore stability and security in this Arab country.

The two sides discussed all political and security developments the region is facing, and several regional and international issues of mutual interest as well as means of cementing relations between the two countries in all domains.

The meeting was attended by Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghanim, head of protocol department at the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Dhari Ajran and Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Foreign Minister's Office Ambassador Ayham Al-Omar. Kuwait's Ambassador to Yemen Fahad Saad Al-Mei' and other senior officials were present in the meeting. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled then held a luncheon banquet in honor of the Yemeni official and his accompanying delegation.

Earlier, His Highness the Crown Prince received Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Minister of Information And Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Essa Ahmed Al-Kanderi.

In other news, Ghanem received in his office the Dean of the Board of Executive Directors and Executive Director of the World Bank Mirza Hasan. - KUNA
