KUWAIT: Drugs Control General Department (DCGD) officers arrested 15 suspects of different nationalities yesterday on drug-related charges. DCGD officials estimated the total amounts of drugs confiscated with the suspects at 260 kilograms hashish, 25 grams of shabu (meth), 250 grams pf heroin in addition to several seedlings of Marijuana and 2,175 illicit tablets. DCGD said eight suspects are being processed for deportation after they were arrested and charged with helping drugs pushers.

No injuries in fires

Mina Abdallah and Um Al-Haiman Fire Centers put out a fire that broke out in a factory in Mina Abdullah. The fire started in plastic material kept in a container. Oil reservoirs nearby were cooled as the fire was being fought. Meanwhile, firemen from Industrial Shuwaikh Center put out a fire in a vehicle, and kept it from spreading to other cars.

Fire prevention

Deputy Director General for Prevention Sector at Kuwait Fire Services Directorate (DGCS) Major General Khalid Al-Mikrad said the department will be very strict in implementing the law on violators of regulations set be KFSD to prevent fires. He said that compliance of land owners is a national duty that they must honor. He made the statement during a campaign on industrial stores and shops in Shuwaikh to make sure that owners are complying with the law.
