KUWAIT: Chairman of the Board of Kuwait Disabled Sports Club Shafi Al-Hajri said competitions of the 9th Ramadan tournament for the disabled games, being organized by the club under the patronage of Iqbal Behbehani in basketball, table tennis, fencing, weightlifting, and boccia has more than 180 players participating. Al-Hajiri said in a press statement that this large participation by disabled athletes of mobile, mental and visual disabilities in and out of the club, and organized by the club for the ninth time, contributed to having competitions being at the highest level. He said the club is keen on organizing this tournament annually to entertain its members with sports and give them a distinguished atmosphere during the month of Ramadan, that besides the opportunity of discovering skilled players who can be prepared to represent Kuwait abroad.

Competitions, that will continue for four days saw the Kuwait team led by Essa Al- Fadhly winning twice in a row in the wheelchair basketball against the teams of Ittihad and Noukhatha, while the losing teams will compete for second and third places today. Meanwhile in basketball for the mentally challenged Ittihad beat Al-Shaheed and Al- Nasser teams and is very close to win the tournament while Al-Shaheed and Al-Salam have one win each, as Al-Nasser suffered two defeats. In fencing Epee Abdallah Al-Haddad won first place followed by Abdallah Al-Khaldi in second and Faisal Al-Kandari in third. In the florets Sanad Al-Beloushi won first place ahead of Abdallah Al-Haddad and Abdallah Al-Khalidi.
