KUWAIT: Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Farwaniya Hospital Dr Amal Khadher said 19 serious hysterectomy and fibroid removals were done with the participation of Lebanese gynecologist Dr Zaki Suleiman. Khadher said that these endoscopic surgeries were conducted on the sidelines of a five-day workshop, and all surgeries were a success.

Khadher said some cases that were operated on were scheduled for treatment abroad and were done successfully, lauding the visiting doctors program for its major effect in presenting the best services, while training doctors on the latest developments in treatments.


In other news, Kuwait Municipality campaigns last week resulted in issuing 388 citations. The campaigns were headed by Acting Director Saad Salem Al-Khrainej, along with stores and signs inspector Abdelrahman Al-Rashidi and other officials. Khrainej said intensified campaigns were conducted in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hasawi, resulting in issuing 238 citations including 82 for cleanliness, 69 for road occupancy and 71 to roaming vendors, besides removing 704 loads of debris, in addition to 396 loads of scrap and discarded furniture.


He said that 1,483 loads of household trash were removed, in addition to removing 2,088 loads of scrap and changing 10,000 240-liter garbage containers of and 680 1,100-liter containers. He said inspection and follow-up inspectors closed 25 stores administratively in Jleeb and Hasawi, besides issuing 150 violations for having signs without a license, adding that more than 190 stores were closed in a month.
