Ex-con arrested

A man was arrested after a botched escape from police during which he caused one vehicle to be completely destroyed.

The suspect, a Kuwaiti ex-convict wanted to serve five years in jail and other cases, had attempted  to ram into patrol cars in Maidan Hawally during his escape attempt. But his plan backfired, as he instead drove into the parking lot in a building's basement, and caused a fire at a car parked there. Salmiya firemen brought the fire under control without injuries. The man was arrested and taken to the relevant authorities for further action. In another case, security source said a Kuwaiti youth was sent to the Drugs Control General Department after being charged with damaging state property and escaping from police. Police found 50 tablets suspected of being Captagon with him.
