KUWAIT: The 25th Asian Ten Pin Bowling Tournament is scheduled to start Sunday at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Farwaniya, in the presence of Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, representing tournament patron His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. Bowling club board member, head of the men and women teams, Nader Al-Mansour said the club will spare no effort to have the tournament come out at its best. He said the challenge was double fold as the modern bowling new building needed renovations.
Al-Mansour said the Asian tournament is a true test for the bowling club, which will host international tournaments in 2020 and 2021 for individuals and teams, that in addition the Arab Youth Championship next year. Al-Mansour hoped Kuwait efforts will be successfully bring all Gulf brothers together during the Gulf championship, which stopped for the past two years.
Al-Mansour said the goal behind the women's participation in the Asian tournament is to have more exposure, as the teams was formed recently which means they are not pressured to get any major achievements. He said the plan for the women team is long term as girls aged 13 to 22 were selected for their skills in order to prepare them all long the upcoming four years. Al-Mansour asked Kuwait fans to back up the players during the tournament to encourage them.
