KUWAIT: Zain held a press conference at its main headquarters in Shuwaikh to unveil the extensive program of its annual Ramadan social campaign, dubbed Zain Al Shuhoor. The conference was joined by six of Zain’s strategic community partners from both the public and private sectors. This year’s campaign promises a wide range of humanitarian, charitable, social, religious, health, and sports programs that will continue throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The press conference was attended by Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti, Public Relations Manager and Spokesman for the Ministry of Social Affairs Ahmad Al Enzi, Director of the Grand Mosque Administration Ali Shadad, Kuwait Food Bank Vice-Chairman Meshal Al Ansari, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Managing Director Abdulrahman Al Oun, Public Authority for Disability Affairs Supervisor Zainab Al Enzi and Suffix General Manager Ahmad Al Majed.

During the conference, Waleed Al Khashti said: “At Zain, we’re always proud to claim that Zain Al Shuhoor is one of the biggest and most successful community campaigns during the Holy Month. Every year, we make sure to introduce a bigger, renewed version of the campaign that expands upon the previous year in its initiatives and programs.”

Al Khashti added: “Without a doubt, such success has many key factors, most important of which is the presence of strategic partners whom we collaborate with to reflect the Holy Month’s spirit of giving and kindness. After all, the success of any community program of this scale relies on close collaboration and a shared vision, and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved with our partners so far.”

“It is also important to highlight the tremendous efforts of our media partners, who continue to shed light on the many programs and initiatives of our annual campaign. For this, I take this opportunity to thank them for being with us today and for their constant presence and great efforts in helping us create a bigger impact in the community,” he added.

Al Khashti concluded by saying: “The main goal of this campaign will always be to share the blessings of this much-cherished month with the entire Kuwaiti people. We will always work hard to reflect this community’s beautiful values in helping others and spreading love, peace, and togetherness.”

Public Relations Manager and Spokesman for the Ministry of Social Affairs Ahmad Al Enzi said: “Zain has been a humanitarian and social partner of the Ministry of Social Affairs for 21 years. Throughout this period, we’ve worked together to support many of the communities that the ministry serves, including foster care children, elderly individuals, and people with disabilities. We urge other private sector institutions to follow Zain’s example and present such community campaigns that bring socially impactful programs.”

Director of the Grand Mosque Administration Ali Shadad said: “Our partnership with Zain started 28 years ago and has encompassed a plethora of charitable, humanitarian, and social contributions. This has effectively reflected the beautiful values of the Kuwaiti community in always being eager to help others. This year, Zain continues to be our main partner in many of the Grand Mosque’s programs, including the main tent for Iftar meals, hospitality services for worshippers, the first Holy Quran Recital Competition from Zain, and more. All this and more reaffirms that the Grand Mosque is a leading cultural and religious center within the State of Kuwait.”

Kuwait Food Bank Vice-Chairman Meshal Al Ansari commented: “The Kuwait Food Bank continues to carry out many charitable activities throughout the year, especially during the Holy Month season. We have an extended strategic partnership with Zain to implement several charitable projects, through which we work together to serve underprivileged communities by providing food supplies and other contributions.”

Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Managing Director Abdulrahman Al Oun said: “Our partnership with Zain started over 30 years ago, and it is one of the very first private sector companies that encourage community service both in and outside of Kuwait. The company has always taken initiative to partner with KRCS to serve our charitable, humanitarian, and social contributions, including providing food supplies, organizing donation campaigns, and much more.”

Authority for Disability Affairs Supervisor Zainab Al Enzi commented: “the Authority serves nearly 65,000 people with disabilities, offering education, career, and rehabilitation services. Our partnership with Zain centers around humanitarian and social principles, and we thank them for their many contributions every year to serve our communities in the Social Care Centers with engaging programs, initiatives, social visits, and more.”

Suffix General Manager Ahmad Al Majed said: “Suffix was founded in 2007, and Zain has been one of the first companies to support us throughout the past 15 years. This proves their well-established vision to support the youth and sports sectors. Ultimately, our main goal is to create impactful programs that promote health and sports awareness in Kuwait, and to put our nation on the regional and global map in these areas. Throughout our partnership with Zain, we presented tens of effective programs and initiatives that helped achieve this goal, and this year we bring back the Zain Ramadan Challenge for the third year running along with other programs to promote an active, healthy lifestyle.”

Zain kicked-off its Ramadan campaign by delivering ‘Ramadan Machla’ (food supplies) in collaboration with three of its non-profit strategic partners: the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor’s Social Care Centers, and the Kuwait Food Bank. Zain’s Iftar Hall initiative, which is a main pillar of the company’s Ramadan campaign every year, comes back for its 17th year. Zain provides daily meals at the main tent in the Grand Mosque and through the Kuwait Food Bank via trucks in areas around Kuwait.

This year, Zain partners with the Grand Mosque to present daily Iftar meals, the first Holy Quran Recital Competition from Zain, the Holy Quran Recital Competition for Zain employees, hospitality services to worshippers during the last ten days of the Holy Month, facilitate transportation of worshippers with mobile carts, and more. In continuation of its long-term partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor’s Social Care Centers, Zain this year offers food supplies and sponsors the annual Girgeaan celebration to bring joy into the hearts of foster care children, elderly individuals, and people with disabilities.

Every year, Zain supports health and sports programs to encourage adopting an active and healthy lifestyle during the Holy Month. This year, Zain continues to partner with Suffix to present the third Zain Ramadan Challenge at Al Shaheed Park, which will feature walkathons and marathons throughout the Holy Month, with advanced tech tools being used to monitor the participants throughout the challenge.

This year, Zain invited all its employees to join its very own volunteer team to contribute to the campaign’s many initiatives and programs with its strategic partners. Zain’s campaign will also include many other contributions, such as hosting an Iftar banquet for employees of various ministries and agencies, Girgeaan celebrations and social activities with community members, in addition to many activities dedicated to Zain employees.

Every Ramadan, Zain diversifies the content of its campaign to include cultural and recreational programs. This year, Zain partners with Kuwait TV for the highly popular ‘Iftar Canon’ program that receives wide interaction on a daily basis. The company also partners with Al Rai TV to sponsor the popular talk show with Kuwaiti star Nabeel Shuail for the third consecutive season. Zain also partners with 360 FM to sponsor ‘Mukhalat’, the popular radio show offering daily prizes to listeners and winners all through the Holy Month.
