KUWAIT: Twenty eight people were arrested during a police crackdown in Sharq that targeted illegal residents and other lawbreakers. Capital Security Department carried out the surprise inspection of Shamlan Marina Wednesday night in cooperation with the coastguard, resulting in arresting two drunken persons, four in violation of residency law, five with expired residency permits and 19 not carrying IDs. All were sent to concerned authorities.

chaired a meeting yesterday that included the Acting Undersecretary for Traffic
and Operations Affairs Maj Gen Abdelaziz Al-Hajeri and a number of concerned
directors. The meeting discussed preparations for the new school year and the
distribution of traffic patrols on main and side roads to ensure smooth traffic
flow.
