KUWAIT: Three Kuwaiti brothers were arrested for reckless driving, endangering others' lives, resisting arrest and assaulting police officers. Security sources explained that one of the brothers was driving dangerously, and when told to pull over, he drove on the opposite side of the road, hitting another vehicle. The source added that his two brothers tried to free him, but they were eventually controlled. Policemen found one of them was wanted for a KD 3,000 financial claim.

Exhibition

KFSD is participating in the Kuwait Industries Union Exhibition being held from Oct 9 to 11 as a government sponsor. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Subaih, Kuwait Industries Union Chairman Hussein Ali Al-Kharafi and top KFSD officials.

Training program

The Interior Ministry yesterday inaugurated a special training program for traffic police agents with the attendance of MoI's acting assistant undersecretary for traffic affairs Maj Gen Fahd Al-Showayye, top MoI officials, UNDP's deputy resident representative Dima Al-Khateeb and the Supreme Planning Council's assistant secretary general Talal Al-Shemmari. The program will be for a month with participation of 22 trainees from the traffic sector and three from the investigations department.

Impersonation

A stateless person was arrested for impersonating as a police detective and robbing expats in Shuwaikh Industrial area. Security sources noted that the suspect usually asked for victims' IDs, and as soon they got their wallets out, he snatched them and fled.

Arrested with guns

Two citizens were arrested with a shotgun and 22 cartridges, said security sources.

Municipal inspection

Capital municipality inspection teams collected KD 2,175 in fines in September, said Capital municipality manager Ammar Al-Ammar, noting that 55 warnings were issued and 54 houses were inspected pending connecting power supplies. Ammar added that the teams filed 150 food-related citations, marked 33 abandoned vehicles, removed 26 illegal ads and two violations on public property. Meanwhile, Jahra municipality inspectors removed five abandoned vehicles and six public property violations.
