KUWAIT: Seven Kuwaitis were recently arrested along Al-Salmi highway for hunting birds in restricted areas and bird sanctuaries.

Prison contraband

An employee of the women's prison has been arrested after being caught trying to smuggle in cigarettes and a mobile phone. The woman was attempting to smuggle the contraband into the prison for an inmate, the Ministry of Interior said. She has been referred to the authorities for further investigation.

New traffic light

In collaboration with MPW, the Traffic Department announced that a new traffic light-controlled crossroad would be launched at the junction of SabahI Road and Al-Shohada Street at the dawn of Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Safety inspection

KFSD inspection teams have began a wide scale inspection campaign in Shu'aiba industrial area to safety code regulations at the factories and various facilities commitment, said brigadier, Khaled Abdullah Fahad. Meanwhile, KFSD yesterday signed a cooperation protocol with KNPC to boost cooperation in responding to contingencies and improve emergency teams' readiness. The agreement also included plans for joint training. The protocol was signed by KFSD director Lt General Khaled Al-Mekrad and KNPC's CEO Mohammed Ghazi Al-Mutairi.

Awareness campaign

For the second day in a row, MoI's Relations and Security Media Department carried on with its awareness campaign designed for the new school year under the title of 'Ya Zeen Aoudathom' (It's Good to Have Them Back). Also, MoI's Facilities Security Department recently concluded a training course on locating, identifying explosives and measures to be followed on finding strange suspicious objects. 10 security agents and 10 KOC security personnel took part in the course.
