KUWAIT: Kuwait ended the 8th Asian Shotgun, and 11th Airgun Championships with a bang as shooters collected four medals including the gold of the double trap by Saad Al-Mutairi and his teammate got silver, while the bronze was claimed by Oman's Ahmad Al-Hatmi.

Kuwait's team of Saad Al-Mutairi, Ahmad Al-Afasi and Jarrah Al-Shuwaier won the silver medal in the teams' double trap event, second to Oman which won the gold medal, as Kazakhstan ended in third place.

In mixed trap event Kuwait's Abdelrahman Al-Hawal won silver behind the team of Chinese Taipei while China won bronze. The Chinese junior mixed team won gold, Kazakhstan silver, and China's second team won bronze.

President of Kuwait and Arab shooting Federations, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi said competitions during the championship were at a higher standard, which is evident by breaking several and Asian records, and he thanked all participating teams for their cooperation. He said Kuwait organizers and officials exerted great efforts to ensure the success of the Championship, under the bad weather the country was under. Championships Director, Secretary General of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations Obaid Al-Osaimi said the club is satisfied with the winnings of Kuwait shooters under the strong competition by the Asian continent champions. He said the club will organize HH the Amir International Shooting Grand Prix in February with the participation of major world shooters. Al-Osaimi thanked all those who worked within the championship sub-committee which contributed to the great success of this continental event.
