Sabeeka Al Jaser honors Zain’s representative in the presence of Sheikha Sheikha Al Abdullah and Aisha Al Salem

KUWAIT: Under the patronage of the President of the Kuwait Foundation for Disabled Children Sabeeka Al-Jasser, Al-Kharafi Center for Disabled Children's Activities held the 6th Ideal Mother Award honoring mothers of disabled children on Saturday at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel. The ceremony honored the hard work and dedication of mothers of children with mental disabilities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the wider Arab world.

In her opening speech, Aisha Al-Salem, the secretary-general of the award, said: "The award is in recognition of the generosity, sacrifices and patience of the mothers of the mentally disabled." She added that this award represents a model for what Kuwait has always sought - to unite Arab ranks and reunite and strengthen Gulf and Arab ties by involving mothers from the Gulf and the Arab world in the award ceremony.

Salem stressed the Kharafi Center is keen on the importance of honoring mothers of young and old people with disabilities in Kuwait, in order to remind them of the role of mothers and their generous gifts that fill the life of their children. She congratulated the winners from various Gulf and Arab countries, stressing the appreciation of everyone for their role, which is a motivation and encouragement for the center to care for people with mental disabilities and mothers who sacrifice for them.

The Kharafi Center honored 18 ideal mothers: From Kuwait: Munira Al-Qatami, Aisha Al-Khashman, Eman Al-Shubayki, Alia Al-Qallaf, Sawsan Al-Saleh, Khaleda Al-Ghannam, Halima Boughith, Noir Sarhan, Nawal Al-Rashed and Hanaa Al-Kabariti. From Egypt: Nada Thabit. From Jordan: Reem Al-Dalabij. From Lebanon: Ghada Bonmar. From Saudi Arabia: Samira Al-Saud. From the UAE: Amira Al-Qabati. From Qatar: Hanadi Ali. From Bahrain: Sawsan Al-Halaq. From Oman: Mariam Al-Siyabi.
