AMMAN: Kuwait's Rahma International charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Association (Eslah), yesterday distributed relief aid and supplies to over 400 Syrian refugee families in Jordan.

The aid, delivered through Relief Convoy 312, is part of the Kuwaiti charity's relief campaign since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis to provide humanitarian and relief aid to refugee families and internally displaced persons in Jordan and other neighboring countries.

The aid, worth over USD 50,000, was handed over to the Syrian families currently residing Amman, Zaraqa, and Karak governorates. Meanwhile, Relief Convoy 312, launched under the slogan "Basma 41", is to host a free medical day for the refugees over the next three days, in addition to distributing cash aid, food packages for the holy month of Ramadan, and gifts for over 200 orphan children.

For his part, Kuwait Ambassador to Jordan Dr Hamad Al-Duaij affirmed, in a statement to KUNA, the embassy's keenness on providing support and sponsorship to all Kuwaiti aid convoys in the Kingdom.

The embassy's actions and efforts are part of the efforts responding to directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Saba to support the humanitarian conditions of the refugees, said the Kuwaiti diplomat. -KUNA
