KUWAIT: Al-Seyassah soccer team recently won the Annahar First Ramadan Soccer Tourney for newspapers and magazines after beating Al-Shahed team by 5-1 in the final match they played Saturday at the High Institute for Navigation and Communication in Shuwaikh.

Notably, the tourney was held in collaboration with KJA and under auspices of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information, Sheikh Mohammed Al- Abdullah, under whose auspices the conclusion ceremony was held in the presence of Information Ministry Undersecretary for New and Political Programs Affairs, Mohammed Bin Naji.

The ceremony was also attended by Annahar editor in chief, Emad Bokhamseen, KJA Secretary General Adnan Al-Rashid, the institute’s director, Monther Al-Kandary and a number of journalists. During the ceremony, Bokhamssen honored Al-Abdullah and KJA chairperson, Fatima Hussein, Al-Kandary, the referees and the tournament’s sponsors. In addition, the conclusion ceremony also witnessed a match between artists and journalists.

Speaking on the occasion, Bokhamseen expressed happiness for the success achieved on the first tourney and the wide scale participation from all newspapers, magazines and KUNA and promised that it would continue and be developed in further years. “Such activities strengthen bonds amongst members of the media and journalists and provide chances for recreation away from work stress”, he added. On his part, KJA’s Secretary General, Adnan Al-Rashid hailed the tourney and thanked Annahar for organizing it.
