municipalityKUWAIT: In reference to the latest announcement issued by Mars Gulf and regarding the decision to take a precautionary recall of a selection of Snickers (Miniatures), Mars (Minis and Miniatures) and Best of Our Minis products produced in The Netherlands after finding a small piece of plastic in one of its products, the Committee of Food Safety in the Department of Municipal Affairs and Administration, under the supervision of Fahad Jasim Al-Mesbahi - Assistant General Manager in the Department of Municipal Affairs and the President of Food Safety Committee, conducted a comprehensive investigation in co-operation with the distributor of Mars in Kuwait that has revealed and confirmed that no suspected products were distributed in Kuwait.

Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfoohi, General Manager of Kuwait Municipality, stated: "In an effort to take all necessary measures to protect the safety of consumers in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Municipality led a large-scale inspection to identify the safety of the suspected products leading to the confirmation that no suspected products were distributed in Kuwait, and that all co-operative societies, private supermarkets and points of sales across Kuwait are completely free from the suspected products. MARS chocolate lovers can be reassured that all MARS chocolate products in Kuwait are completely safe for consumption."

Mars Gulf had reassured that the limited recall on some products produced in The Netherlands is a voluntary and precautionary measure driven by the company's belief that the consumer's safety is its first priority. As a result of the investigation led by Mansour Al-Rashidi, Committee Secretary of Food Safety in the Department of Municipal Affairs and Administration, and the inspection of the certificates of origins, the production country and date, all MARS chocolate products in Kuwait are confirmed to be completely safe for consumption.
