His Highness’ tribute ultimate honor: Minister

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended and patronized yesterday the teachers’ honoring ceremony for the year 2016-2017 on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.  His Highness the Amir arrived to the ceremony held at the Public Authority For Applied Education and Training (PAAET), and was received by the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Mohammad Abdullatif Al-Fares as well as a number of officials.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem, Sheikh Jaber Al-Abduallah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Sheikh Faisal Al-Saud Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, senior state officials, as well as senior army, police and National Guard leaders, along with Kuwait Fire Service Directorate.

Tremendous honor

The attendance of His Highness the Amir in the ceremony was a tremendous honor, Fares said in a statements, adding that “teaching represents the crux of educational activity in the country.” Moreover, he noted that the ceremony was a “message of appreciation to all teachers,” adding that the Ministry of Education believes that teachers are the catalysts that set the education process in motion. “The teachers honored today are those who helped instill the virtues of education in the minds of our youth,” Fares said.

Meanwhile, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Dr Haythem Al-Athari said that the ceremony “honored the commitment and dedication of teachers.” On His Highness the Amir’s attendance, he said it was an honor and a testament to how grateful His Highness the Amir is of the contributions made by teachers.

Similarly, the Ministry of Education’s Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Fatma Al-Kanderi said that national support of teachers has always been accustomed, congratulating all teachers that were honored in the ceremony.

Teachers’ development

Meanwhile, an official affirmed that His Highness the Amir’s honoring of teachers, in addition to his special interests in their professional development would highly boost educators’ status in Kuwait. His Highness’ honoring is also a tremendous accolade for all teachers and will provide them with the strength and determination to exert further efforts in order to enhance the education process in the country and produce highly efficient graduates, said Mutee’a Al-Ajmi, Chairman of Kuwait Teachers Association (KTA) He noted that His Highness’ sponsorship of the event has expressional and tremendous meanings in showing appreciation, keen interest, and high place for educators.

His Highness’ support will push teachers and members of the educational system in Kuwait to bear their responsibilities in making a promising future and building capable generations that realize and value their own responsibilities in boosting the education march in the country. - KUNA
