Top state officials receive new, outgoing ambassadors

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received yesterday at Seif Palace the previous cabinet's ministers. His Highness Sheikh Sabah met with former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, former Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, former Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State of Services Affairs Yaser Abul, former Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harabi, former Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, former Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Essam Al-Marzouq, former Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Falah Al-Azb, as well as former Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammad Al-Fares. His Highness the Amir thanked the ministers for their efforts during their tenures and wished them all success in their future endeavors. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also met with the former ministers yesterday to thank them for their efforts.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir received Sheikh Dr Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, who presented to him a copy of his book entitled 'Shariah, Democracy and the Kuwaiti Constitution.' Sheikh Dr Ibrahim later presented copies of the book to His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as well. In the meantime, His Highness Sheikh Crown Price also met with Health Minister Sheikh Dr Bassel Humoud Hamad Al-Sabah and chief of Kuwait National Security Bureau (NSB) Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

Ambassadors

In other news, His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Prime Minister have separately received the outgoing Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Jusupbek Sharipov on the occasion of ending his tenure in the country. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received the credentials of France's new ambassador to the State of Kuwait.

During the reception, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled wished the new ambassador best of luck and more developed relations between Kuwait and France. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also met with the outgoing Australian Ambassador to Kuwait Warren Hauck. During the reception, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled lauded Hauck's efforts and contributions to the promotion and development of firm relations between Kuwait and Australia. The meetings were attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister's Office Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah and several senior Foreign Ministry officials. Also yesterday, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled received the outgoing UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to Kuwait Zineb Touimi-Benjelloun. Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled thanked the UN official for her efforts during her stay in Kuwait, wishing her the best of luck in her future ventures. - KUNA
