Fruitful media contributes to state development: Crown Prince

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah meets with Abd Al-Rahman Al-Alyan, Kuwait Times Editor-in-Chief and member of the board of directors of Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA).

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah hosted the new board of directors of Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA) at Bayan Palace yesterday. The new board later met with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who stressed the significance of fruitful media that contributes to building and developing the State. His Highness the Crown Prince also emphasized that it is necessary to report news in full accuracy, sovereignty, neutrality and objectivity, and to observe relevant laws in a world that has been swarming with challenges. Furthermore, the board members met with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al- Hamad Al-Sabah.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir received Minister of Oil, Minister of Electricity and Water Essam Al-Marzouq, CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) Nizar Al-Adasani, CEO of Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and KOTC Chairman Badr Nasser Al-Khashti on the occasion of the company’s 60th anniversary. During the meeting, His Highness the Amir commended the vital role played by the KOTC in pushing forward the wheel of the national economy and providing strategic support to the oil sector. Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah was present at both meetings.

Later, the oil officials met with His Highness the Crown Prince, and KOTC executives briefed him about the company accomplishments and its future plans. His Highness the Crown Prince lauded KOTC’s sincere efforts in the vital sector and boosting its status in the international energy market, wishing they would perform further excellent work for service of the homeland, its progress and prosperity. The officials then met with His Highness the Prime Minister as well.

Also yesterday, His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince separately received His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Meanwhile, His Highness the Prime Minister received former Secretary- General of the Arab League Dr Nabil Al-Araby. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary at His Highness the Prime Minister’s Diwan Sheikha Etimad Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Director General of Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Sharekh.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also met with Araby. The meeting was attended by Director General of Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Sharekh, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Aziz Rahim, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Minister Bureau Affairs, Ambassador Saleh Salem Al-Loughani, in addition to Foreign Ministry senior officials. In the meantime, His Highness the Prime Minister received Chairman of the Employees’ Syndicate of Kuwait Airways Talal Al-Hajri and several other union members. —KUNA
