Amir, Crown Prince meet KCCI Chairman, members

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah meets with Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (KCCI) Chairman Ali Al-Ghanem and KCCI board members. —KUNA

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received yesterday at Sief Palace Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (KCCI) Chairman Ali Al-Ghanem and KCCI board members. His Highness the Amir praised the active role of the KCCI and the great efforts exerted in the preparation for the Kuwait International Conference for Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), and their keenness to make the conference a success by attracting hundreds of major international investment companies to participate in the event.

Ghanem said meanwhile that KCCI stands prepared to work with the government to put in place the outcomes of the recent conference on Iraq's reconstruction in Kuwait. Speaking to reporters following his meeting with His Highness the Amir, Ghanem mentioned in particular Kuwaiti investments in Iraq.

He added that he and KCCI board members had listened to advice from His Highness the Amir in this regard, quoting His Highness the Amir as confirming that the government would work with the private sector to carry out recommended projects in Iraq. He cited KICRI as a clear-cut paradigm of His Highness the Amir and Kuwaiti people's goodwill towards their neighbors.

The KCC Chairman and board members later met with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who appreciated the KCCI's role in preparations for the conference, as well as efforts to attract major international investment companies to participate in the event.

Separately, His Highness the Amir received head of the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of their visit to the country. The reception was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.

In other news, His Highness the Crown Prince received a Kuwaiti State Audit Bureau-appointed team tasked with monitoring the budget of His Highness the Crown Prince's Diwan. During the encounter, His Highness the Crown Prince commended the State Audit Bureau and its personnel for their efforts to protect public funds, saying the audit body's contributions towards public interest are appreciated. Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Sabah, who heads His Highness the Crown Prince's Diwan, was present at the meeting.

Also yesterday, His Highness the Crown Prince received National Security Apparatus (NSA) Chairman Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. His Highness the Crown Prince also met with Dr Mohammad Barrak Al-Heifi. - KUNA
