Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, offered
condolences on Friday to the Tunisian government and people on the passing away
of former President Beji Caid Essebsi. In a statement to KUNA, Sheikh Nasser
prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow blessing upon Essebsi and paid tribute
to Essebsi's accomplishments at domestic and foreign levels. Meanwhile,
Tunisian former Prime Minister Habib Essid praised the historic ties between
Tunisia and Kuwait.

His Highness
Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Friday arrived in Tunisia to
partake in the funeral of late President Beji Caid Essebsi. In Kuwait, acting
deputy foreign minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah offered
condolences on Friday at the Tunisian embassy's building to the Tunisian
Government and people on demise of President Beji Caid Essebsi. Sheikh Dr Ahmad
Nasser recalled the late president's sagacious leadership and admired efforts
for regional stability.

His Highness the
Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had sent a cable of condolences on
Thursday to Tunisian interim President Mohammad Al-Nasser over the death of
former Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi. In the cable, His Highness the
Amir offered sincere condolences to the Tunisian president, people and the
family of the late leader, saying that the Arab world has lost a national
leader who contributed to serving and defending its just issues. His Highness
Sheikh Sabah reminisced the late Tunisian leader's great accomplishments and
contributions to safeguarding the Tunisian people's unity, security and stability,
and to capitalizing on their energies for development and building.

His Highness the
Amir spoke highly of the late Tunisian president's role in strengthening
existing relations between Kuwait and Tunisia and developing joint cooperation,
praying to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy upon him and grant his family
patience. More cables of similar sentiments were sent by His Highness the Crown
Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister
Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq
Al-Ghanem to Tunisian interim President.

In the meantime,
Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah
Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah sent a cable on Friday to Tunisian Defense Minister Abdelkarim
Al-Zbidi expressing sincere condolence over the passing away of former
President Beji Caid Essebsi. A press statement by the Directorate of Moral
Guidance and Public Relations of the Kuwaiti Defense Military said that Sheikh
Nasser also sent a similar cable to Hafedh Caid Essebsi, offering sincere
condolence for the demise of his father, the late Tunisian President. - KUNA
