KUWAIT: Head of the Public Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Abdul Rahman Al-Namash said responding to Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index 2018 and the progress Kuwait made on it, a meeting was held yesterday at Nazaha headquarters with Kuwait Transparency Society to review its report. Namash added that both sides discussed means of cooperation on executing the national strategy to enhance integrity and fight corruption. He noted that both sides agreed to continue holding periodic meetings.

Run over attempt

Kuwait Municipality strongly condemned an attempt made by the owner of a mobile grocery to run over municipal inspectors in Jahra, adding that the inspectors were in the process of filing a citation against the owner for operating an unlicensed truck. The owner was referred to relevant authorities for further legal action.

Historic verdict

Lawyer Nasser Al-Ajmi said the administrative affairs court yesterday passed what he described a historic sentence against the Public Authority For Social Security, mandating it to pay a disabled retired widower a portion of his deceased wife's social security pension on grounds that he has a 50 percent disability.
