KUWAIT: Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Boxing Federation Abdallah Al-Otaibi said that the technical and administrative preparations to host the Asian Boxing Championship are almost complete. The championship is being held under the patronage of Chairman of Kuwait Olympic Committee in which 25 countries are participating.


KUWAIT: Acting Director General of Public Authority for Sports Dr Saqer Al-Mulla recently received the President of Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al- Ahmad. Both sides discussed cooperation and the activation of the Olympic champion program as well as their further plans to develop Kuwait sports.

It is set to start on August 1st and continue until the 9th of that month. He said that all committees are currently working two shifts a day to ensure the best possible preparations are made before the start of the championship.
Al-Otaibi said, the boxing ring in which the championship will be contested will be installed according to the most recent technical standard approved by the International Boxing Federation.

Meanwhile, as for the delegations that are arriving, he said all Kuwait hotels are ready to welcome the tournament's guests. The expected delegations will arrive 48 hours before the championship. Al-Otaibi lauded the continuous follow up by the KBF Chairman Mohammad Mansi, and the cooperation of Kuwait Sports Club Chairman Khalid Al-Ghanim and his deputy Bader Al-Osaimi.
