KUWAIT: An Asian man was arrested with 1.25 kg of ice and hashish. Security sources said after receiving tips about the suspect's activities, he was ambushed and caught in Farwaniya. The sources added that on searching the suspect's room, they found the drugs that he confessed to possessing for trading purposes.

In another development, a citizen was arrested in Naseem in Jahra for using and possessing drugs, said security sources, noting that on being stopped at a routine checkpoint, the suspect seemed nervous. On searching his vehicle, detectives found drugs and a half-used joint of hashish.

Fighting in Mahboula

Two Arab expats were arrested for fighting in Mahboula. Case papers indicate that a citizen reported seeing two people fight in a building yard. Rushing to the scene, detectives found an injured man and an assailant carrying a metal baton he used in attacking him.

Citizen commits suicide

Affected by a state of depression he had been suffering from for a while, a citizen committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor balcony of a building in Shaab. Security sources said the man died instantly on impact.

Stray dog attack

An Asian child was attacked by a stray dog in Egaila. Security sources said the child was at the beach with his parents when he saw the dog and tried to play with it, but the dog bit him. Hearing his screams, the parents managed to scare the dog away. The boy was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police hunt conman

A search is on for a Syrian who conned hundreds of singer Assi Al-Hillani fans into purchasing tickets for a concert that was allegedly scheduled for April 6, then rescheduled to May 5. Case papers indicate that the suspect had booked a booth at a top hotel and published online and social media ads about the concert. The sources added that the suspect collected over KD 20,000 before he disappeared. However, the hotel discovered the fraud and reported the matter, while fans still believed the concert would be held as scheduled.

Female citizen 'insulted'

A female citizen working in a Sabahiya court reported that two female employees working under her insulted her during working hours. A case was filed.

'Informer' arrested
