KUWAIT: Australian Ambassador to Kuwait Jonathan Gilbert said the story of Al-Qurain martyrs is one of courage and self-sacrifice in the face of invading force and it will inspire Kuwaitis for many generations to come. The Australian diplomat made his remarks yesterday following his visit to Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum, accompanied by Assistant Secretary of the Antiquities and Museums Sector at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Dr Tahani Al-Adwani.

The NCCAL's Museums Observer, Salman Boland explained the contents of the museum and its sections, which was a centre of Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Meanwhile, Dr Adwani expressed happiness over the visit the Australian ambassador and his accompanying delegation to Al-Qurain Martyrs Museum.

She praised the historical relations between Kuwait and Australia, which was among the countries of the coalition during the liberation of Kuwait. The Australian Ambassador thanked Dr Adwani for her gracious hospitality during this visit. - KUNA
