KUWAIT: Interior Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah issued a circular to immigration departments in Kuwait’s six governorates allowing citizens to bring Bangladeshi domestic helpers.

The decision covers male workers only, and according to certain conditions, informed security sources said. The conditions include that the citizen can bring one helper only, and must not already have one from the same nationality.

The conditions also include that the citizen must have a house ownership deed and must not have a large number of workers registered to his name. The sources said the circular became effective yesterday. — Al-Jarida
