Bedoons with expired IDs can benefit from services

KUWAIT: The Central Apparatus for the Remedy of Status of Illegal Residents said it was coordinating with relevant government authorities to continue serving bedoons (stateless) even after expiry of their identity cards.

The Apparatus said in a statement this measure aimed at enabling illegal residents benefit from health services and buy rations, in light of the ongoing measures taken by the government to fight the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Bedoons can receive banking services as well, it said, amidst exceptional circumstances in the country. - KUNA
