Capital at comfortable levels with CAR of 16.6%

KUWAIT: Burgan Bank Group announced yesterday its first quarter earnings for the financial year 2018. The set of results for the period ending in 31st March 2018 demonstrated a solid operating capabilities and efficiencies. Reported net income for 2018 first quarter grew year-on-year by 14 percent reaching KD 20.4 million ($68 million). Earnings per share grew year-on-year by 20 percent reaching 6.6 fils.

During the first quarter of 2018 and compared with the same period of 2017, Operating income grew by 8 percent to reach KD 60.5 million ($201.7 million). Operating profit before provisions grew by 12 percent reaching KD32.5 million ($ 108 million). Asset quality measured by the Non-performing loans (NPL) to gross loans ratio, was significantly enhanced when compared to the same period of 2017, with NPL to gross loans ratio declined to 2.7 percent and NPL ratio net of collateral declining to 0.7 percent.
