KUWAIT: Burgan Bank, one of the most dynamic banks in Kuwait, recently announced that it has successfully re-certified with ISO 9001:2015 certification across all of its operations. Through this re-certification, Burgan Bank has once again demonstrated its ability to effectively and efficiently provide an internationally recognized quality management system, while continuously advancing its products and services.

The prestigious certification is testament to Burgan Bank's pursuit of excellence, prudence and compliance to the highest quality standards, and is an important accolade that solidifies the bank's position in the local and international market. The re-certification mechanism and methodology followed in this regard was granted after a comprehensive review and careful auditing of all its departments by Bureau Veritas in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

International Organization for Standardization "ISO" is the world's leading developer of international standards, which specify the requirements for state-of-the-art products, services, processes, materials and systems, and for good conformity assessment, managerial and organizational practice. As a professional standard, it is utilized to certify Quality Management systems focusing on continuous improvement, complete customer satisfaction, and the active involvement of both the management and employees in a stringent process-based approach. Developed by an association of governmental and non-governmental organizations from more than 160 countries, ISO certification serves as a vital tool that ensures that operational risks are identified and addressed prior to occurrence, thereby attributing to high quality assurance of operations.

Burgan Bank is one of the first banks in the GCC to receive such a certification for the fifth consecutive period. The Bank received its first ever ISO 9001 certification in 2003, becoming one of the first banks in the Middle East to receive the ISO 9001certification across all of its business functions, operating units and branches.

The re-certification marks the beginning of a new 3-year Quality Management cycle during which the bank is required to continually maintain and enhance its quality assurance and high level proficiency of operations.

The latest recognition of Burgan Bank's high quality products and services falls in line with its strategic objective and solid commitment to its customers and stakeholders, also re-confirming the bank's successful investment in its human resources, customers, processes, and technologies, that continue to ameliorate over the years.
