KUWAIT: The Kuwait Touristic Enterprises Company has completed the feasibility study for the Khairan Park project and the preparation of its initial designs. The company is collaborating with government agencies to finalize the necessary laws to launch the project. In a press release, the company stated that the park will cover an area of 800,000 square meters and will include various components, including two hotels with a total capacity of 300 rooms, and 200 chalets equipped to the highest international standards. The project will also feature a dedicated sports area, an entertainment zone, a water village, and a shopping complex within the park’s boundaries.

The company is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Finance to make necessary amendments to the State Property Law (No. 105 of 1980), which allows state-owned companies to sign viable investment contracts. The company expressed confidence in the cooperation of government entities and relevant bodies to overcome obstacles and challenges that may hinder the implementation of its development projects.

Winter Wonderland

Sheikh Mohammed Salman Al-Sabah, Chairman of the company, noted that the intensive efforts of Touristic Enterprises Company align with the ambitious strategy of “New Kuwait 2035” by executing tourism and entertainment projects that diversify income sources and create job opportunities for young Kuwaitis, thereby enhancing a prosperous national economy.

He added that the Tourism Projects Company is fully prepared for the 2024-2025 season, with the reopening of the South Sabahiya Park and “Winter Wonderland” for their second and third seasons, respectively. The company is also preparing a variety of entertainment events across the country during the upcoming winter to ensure a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors.

Al-Nuwaiseeb entertainment facility in southern Kuwait, which will include a variety of restaurants and cafes, as well as a market and the South Sabahiya Park project are set to reopen in November. Sheikh Mohammad said the Hilton in Al-Mangaf will be reopened as Al-Mangaf entertainment facility in 2026.

He added that a contract is expected to be signed next month for Al-Eqaila Beach renovation project, with the project slated for opening in 2026. The company is also working on the development of Burj Al-Hamam restaurant, expected to open by the end of 2025. — KUNA
