KUWAIT: The cabinet yesterday hailed the Ministry of Interior for arresting recently a terrorist cell and uncovering their subversive goals. During its weekly meeting held at Bayan Palace under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the cabinet voiced full confidence in the ability of security apparatuses to maintain the security of the nation and citizens.

Wishing Kuwait everlasting security and stability, the cabinet hoped that the Kuwaiti people would be well aware of existing challenges and risks and, thence, the necessity of national unity, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in a press statement following the meeting. The cabinet also called on people to cooperate intensively with security personnel to cut off the way for those plotting to disrupt security and stability in the country, he said.

Terrorist attack

Moreover, the ministers sharply condemned a recent terrorist attack targeting a hotel in Bamako in Mali, which left scores of people killed or wounded. The cabinet reiterated Kuwait's emphatic denunciation of such heinous criminal acts that breach all heavenly religions and human values and principles, while offering condolences to the government and people of Mali over the victims of the attack.

In this context, the cabinet urged the international community to stand united in the face of terrorism with all its forms and manifestations, voicing Kuwait's support to every effort aiming to fight and eliminate this scourge.

Bosnian president

Meanwhile, the cabinet was briefed on a recent letter sent to His Highness the Amir from Bosnian President Dragan Covic, inviting His Highness the Amir to visit his country in order to discuss ways of promoting and developing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Then, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah kept the ministers posted on the outcomes of the recent meeting of the GCC foreign ministers in Riyadh. He also apprised them of the outcomes of a recent summit in Abu Dhabi on the protection of children against cyber abuse. - KUNA
