KUWAIT: The Interior Ministry's Relations and Security Information Department said general security officers arrested an Arab man for stealing copper cables from Jamal Abdul Nasser Road. A police patrol noticed a man removing cables from the ground. When policemen approached him, he confessed to stealing the cables and selling them as copper prices are high. He was sent to concerned authorities.

Traffic

The traffic department at Kuwait International Airport issued 6,498 citations, while 68 vehicles were impounded and five accidents were dealt with.

Fire

Fire broke out in a foam factory in Dajeej, and Farwaniya, Jleeb, Mishref and backup centers responded. Fire gutted the entire warehouse, but the blaze was put out without any injuries.

Crackdowns

Jahra municipality violations removal department carried out a campaign against shops encroaching on state property and utilizing unlicensed areas. Ten steel and concrete fences were removed, besides two encroachments by store owners. Meanwhile, Hawally municipality announced that it carried out a campaign against restaurants and shops, which resulted in closing two stores and issuing 62 citations, including dealing in food before receiving a health certificate, employing a worker without a health certificate, roaming without a permit and dealing in expired foodstuff.
