KUWAIT: The National Campaign for Cancer Awareness (CAN) concluded its awareness events in cooperation with Al-Ahli Bank under the theme 'Your Health is a Crown', with two awareness exhibitions at The Gate Mall and Hamad Al-Saqer Specialized Health Center in Adailiya. "Our cooperation with the bank was part of our strategy to support health programs to promote health awareness about breast cancer and early signs of tumors," CAN Board Member Dr Hussa Majid Al-Shaheen said.

She lauded the campaign's outstanding approach this year with the diversity of its events, starting with a press conference at Kuwait Towers and other events at malls all over Kuwait. CAN participated in events in cooperation with the health ministry, as the focus was on how to carry out examinations for early detection of tumors in cooperation with government and private universities.

Dr Shaheen, who is responsible for the 'Your Health is a Crown' campaign, said "exhibitions allow us to contact society members with various backgrounds and answer their questions about diseases, and we advise them on how to live a healthy lifestyle". She said programs were held at girls' schools, as there was an exhibition at Ain Jalout School, Girl Scouts Society and Kids Land Nursery to educate mothers and teachers on the disease.

CAN also participated in a health seminar organized by Sabah Al-Salem Co-op Society over two days. CAN distributed cards to remind women of their monthly tests, and stressed mammogram tests for women over 40.
