Moreau congratulates Kuwait for winning first place in Bangkok

KUWAIT: The Canadian community hockey team defeated its Kuwaiti counterpart by the score of 5-3 during the friendly match that was held on Sunday evening at TEC skating rink in the presence of the Canadian Ambassador Martine Moreau and Chairman of Kuwait Winter Games club Fuhaid Al-Ajmi and his deputy Khalid Al-Mutairi with a large number of fans in the stands.

Martine Moreau said Canada and Kuwait enjoys over half a century of strong bilateral relations, adding that I realized, during my stay in Kuwait, my deep appreciation for the many shared values between our countries, and this is reflected not only in our friendly relations, but also in the sincere wish to boost cooperation and bilateral trade and joint experiences in various fields, as well as increase and develop ties between people.

Moreau said "2017 is a special year for Canadians because we are celebrating the 150 anniversary of the federation and we would like to celebrate it with our friends in Kuwait through relations between people and sports.

She said this is the first friendly match between Kuwait and Canada, and we hope for more in the future.

The Canadian ambassador Martine Moreau congratulated Kuwait hockey team for winning first place in Bangkok open tournament.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Winter Games Club Fuhaid Al-Ajmi said the match is held in cooperation with the Canadian embassy to celebrate the 150 anniversary of the federation, and the club received the invitation from the Canadian side.
