KUWAIT: The total number of candidates running for parliamentary by-elections in the second and third constituencies has reached 33, including four women. Speaking to the press after filing his candidacy application yesterday, third constituency candidate Saleh Redha Jarman called for amending media-related legislations to stop sending people to prison over posts they make on Twitter. "A blogger is in prison while those who stole millions are free," he said, calling for amending and updating old laws to serve both the society and maintain parliamentary control. Jarman also called for resolving educational, health and housing problems as well as reconsidering the amount paid to citizens in pension, women protection laws, controlling prices and paying more attention to youth.
