KUWAIT: The court of cassation stressed that it is out of its jurisdiction to hear cases filed against the citizenship department to mandate it to grant Kuwaiti nationality to children whose parents have resorted to court to prove their lineage or parentage. In its verdict, the court also emphasized that Kuwaiti citizenship is, by power of the law, the right of every child of a Kuwaiti father without the need for any related administrative decisions.

KD 20 million

The board of directors of the national fund for small and medium enterprises' development is currently considering allocating KD 20 million to face the growing number of applications and feasibility studies already reviewed and approved with the ultimate goal of nationalizing various projects and utilizing youth potentials and powers. Informed sources explained that the new budget will be used to fund youth projects. The sources also noted that the current board of directors is conducting various studies and setting plans to enhance the fund's role in achieving sustainable economic development. Further, the sources highlighted that the fund had so far succeeded in financing over 20 projects.

Tasks transfer

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) invited Kuwait Municipality to a meeting to discuss transferring the tasks of licensing and supervising ads and street vendors from the municipality to MoCI. Notably, MoCI wishes to do so as soon as possible so that it can proceed with licensing mobile trucks, especially those providing catering services.
