KUWAIT: The Ambassador of Chad to Kuwait Batoul Zakaria commended Kuwait's role and efforts in all humanitarian issues in order to help those in need, whether impacted by natural or man-made disasters. After Zakaria's meeting yesterday with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr Hilal Al-Sayer, she said that Kuwaitis are racing to reach out to everyone in need, pointing out that in every forum of human concern, Kuwait steps in to help, thanks to the directives and initiatives of its wise leadership and people.

She deeply thanked KRCS, which has been keen to support the staff in the Embassy of Chad in Kuwait by providing food and health baskets. Zakaria discussed with Dr Sayer about ways to support the Chadian people, after their country was hit by floods and landslides that caused extensive destruction to lands and properties. She also discussed many topics regarding humanitarian and volunteer work and ways to strengthen them between both sides, commending KRCS' efforts at Arab and international levels.

Accordingly, Dr Sayer welcomed Zakaria's visit to KRCS' headquarters, explaining the importance of supporting the impacted people in Chad, along with African countries that were recently flood-hit. KRCS will follow-up on developments in Chad to evaluate the humanitarian situation and help, taking into consideration what is being monitored by the Chadian authorities there, he underscored. During the meeting, Dr Sayer reviewed the humanitarian and relief work provided by KRCS inside and outside Kuwait. - KUNA
