KUWAIT: A child was rushed to Farwaniya hospital in a critical condition after stepping on a landmine in Kabd. Paramedics rushed to the 8-year-old to hospital after arriving to the scene in response to an emergency call. An investigation revealed that the landmine dates back to the 1990/91 Iraqi Invasion period.

 

Smuggling foiled

 

A citizen's attempt to smuggle 150,000 captagon tablets in a spare tire was foiled at Abdaly border upon his arrival from Iraq. He along with the illicit tablets were sent to Drugs Control General Department.

 

Ex-cons arrested

 

Police arrested an ex-convict in Mahboula by Najda for possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and a set of binoculars. The Kuwaiti suspect was asked to pull over but drove off instead, but was eventually forced to stop. An identity check also revealed that the man was wanted to serve sentences on felony cases. Separately, a man in his sixties was arrested in Sharq after being asked to pull over.
