KUWAIT: A Syrian recently reported that five unidentified people kidnapped and raped his 13-year-old son, said security sources. The man said that his son knew one of the rapists through playing an online video game with him. The man invited the boy to meet him at a famous shopping mall in Kuwait. Once there, the man asked the boy to go with him and they drove to an under-construction building in Zahra. The father added that four others were waiting in the building into which they forced the boy, tied him up and took turns raping him. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Deaths from car accident

A citizen and her son were killed yesterday when their vehicle crashed along Al-Salmi highway, said security sources noting that the mother was killed instantly while her son was rushed to Jahra hospital with very serious injuries where he died later on.

Alcohol smugglers arrested

Four Georgians were recently arrested in two separate case of smuggling alcohol into the country, said security sources. In the first case, narcotics detectives were tipped off concerning a juice shipment arriving from a GCC state that was concealing alcohol. The shipment arrived six weeks before the suspect showed up at Shuaiba port to collect it. On searching the shipment, detectives found 2,408 bottles of liquor. The suspect led the police to his two accomplices. Another Georgian was also arrested at Shuaiba port for importing 6,044 bottles of liquor hidden in a bottled water shipment.

Rental car missing

An Egyptian reported that a friend of hers rented a car in her name two months ago. So far, the friend has not paid the car rental fees nor returned the car. She added that the friend also stopped answering her calls. A case was filed.

Traffic fisticuffs

A citizen and a Jordanian recently exchanged assault accusations at Shuwaikh industrial area police station following a traffic accident. Further investigations are in progress.

Fire in Rai

A huge fire broke out yesterday in a petrochemicals factory in Rai and firemen from several stations rushed to the scene to fight the flames.  Three firemen suffered from smoke inhalation and thermal stress while an Asian worker sustained serious burns and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Marijuana smuggler

A female Asian was recently arrested on arrival at Kuwait International Airport with the possession of six kilos of marijuana concealed within her luggage, said security sources.
