ak47KUWAIT: Detectives of the weapons inspection department arrested a citizen with two AK-47 rifles following information that he keeps the illegal weapons at his home. He was sent to concerned authorities.

Citizens trapped in building

Three citizens were trapped in a smoke-filled room after a fire broke out in a two-story building. Six citizens were also inside the same building when the fire broke out. Jahra fire center responded to the call and firemen rescued a child and a lady from the bedroom on the first floor of the building. They are being treated for smoke inhalation. Three ladies and a man were also evacuated from the second floor. All persons were taken by paramedics to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Yemenis, Egyptians held

Seven Yemeni and Egyptian expats were sent to the deportation department for violating the law and creating a scene of terror with a fight after Friday prayers. The suspects were arrested during the fight and were sent to concerned authorities.

Filipina arrested with liquor

Policemen arrested a Filipina with 67 bottles of locally-made liquor. The police also arrested 70 wanted men, 46 suspects, 15 absconders and 25 persons without IDs. Security campaigns also resulted in confiscating seven wanted cars and arresting 13 persons whose visas were expired. They also arrested 11 persons for theft and gambling.

Campaigns

The traffic department carried out several campaigns between October 25, 2015 and October 30, 2015, resulting in issuing 43,860 citations, impounding 1,801 vehicles, while six expatriates were sent for deportation for driving without a license. Separately, the food and markets supervising department at Kuwait Municipality carried out several campaigns during September, resulting in destroying 857 kilograms of food found unfit for human consumption. The public relations department said inspectors issued 74 violations through checking 386 stores. It said that inspectors removed 833 violating signs.
