KUWAIT: Co-operative societies are only allowed to sell for customers living in the their respective areas of operation, according to a new decision Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) released on Friday.

As a result, customers will not be allowed to shop in co-op branches outside of their areas of residence until further notice, and can only go to branches in areas relevant to the address mentioned in their civil IDs, according to the new directive.

The new decision also stipulates that this condition is applied on both citizens and expatriates alike. This measure is taken in accordance with the Cabinet and health authorities' instructions as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the ministry said in a statement. - KUNA
