Colonel sentenced to 15 years in co-op embezzlement case

KUWAIT: The appeals court sentenced a police colonel to 15 years in jail for his involvement in the embezzlement of funds from the interior ministry’s co-operative society. The court also sentenced six expatriate employees in the same case to jail terms ranging between seven and 10 years, and fined them KD 1.68 million in total. One expat was ruled innocent

The Health Ministry denied social media reports claiming that organs were ‘stolen’ from a dead body at the Sabah health zone. It said in a statement to the press that such reports were ‘totally false’ and damage Kuwait’s reputation, noting that it will take legal measures against “all those who harm the health sector” through the spread of inaccurate news.
