KUWAIT: A Municipality official said Municipality Director General Ahmad Al-Manfouhi issued a decision suspending commercial licenses on the coastal line, in addition to not renewing some of them. He added that the decision includes car offices, some restaurants and entertainment facilities, in addition to hotels. The source said the municipality carried out a comprehensive survey of the activities on the coastal line, where it was found that a large percentage of stores have been encroaching on state property for many years. He said car offices use large areas without obtaining licenses from the road occupancy department.

Controversial tweet

The Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information referred Dr Ali Al-Rubaie to the publication violations committee for violating regulations. This was due to a tweet by Rubaie in which he said a Muslim is not allowed to pray for Kuwaiti actor Abdulhussein Abdulredha because he is a "rejectionist" who died on the "stray path".

New pier facilities

Executive Director of Projects at KNPC Abdullah Al-Ajmi said the loading of the first tanker from the sulphur loading facilities' new pier will take place at the end of October. Ajmi added that the cost of the project is around KD 153 million. One phase of the project is for new facilities, while the other phase is related to upgrading current facilities that were constructed more than 30 years ago.

Ministers to face grilling

A group of MPs agreed to grill the ministers of finance, oil and social affairs during the next parliamentary term scheduled to start by the end of October. Sources said opposition MPs of the "26 faction" met and decided to grill ministers Anas Al-Saleh, Essam Al-Marzouq and Hind Al-Sabeeh for "mismanaging" their ministries, not answering parliamentary questions and hiding information, besides financial and administrative violations as mentioned in the Audit Bureau report.
