KUWAIT: Kuwait Heart Foundation (KHF) participated in the Clinical Cardiology Updates conference in cooperation with Gulf Heart Association to review the latest treatments of heart diseases. KHF Board Member Dr Mohammad Zubaid said one of the issues discussed was the upcoming study of KHF on scientific research about heart attacks in Kuwait, which will start next month.

He said it is a study of all heart attack cases in patients admitted to Kuwait hospitals, following the patients’ treatment types and caring for them, adding that the conference includes reviewing diseases related to the heart, such as diseases pregnant women suffer from and their relation to heart diseases.

Dr Zubaid said among the most important goals of KHF is to promote awareness for doctors and the public about heart diseases in Kuwait, adding that the event is very important because it includes talks about heart diseases doctors deal with daily in hospitals. Senior interventional cardiologist Dr Fahad Al-Hajiri said the conference discussed the latest global developments and recommendations about heart disease.

He hoped this conference will be the nucleus for other conferences that take place periodically, as there are many benefits for these conferences, most important of which is achieving the latest scientific developments in cardiology. Cardiologist at Mubarak Hospital Dr Abdullah Hussein Ismail said the conference is for doctors and medical staff to discuss the latest in heart diseases, in addition to sending a message to the society, as awareness of heart diseases is important.
