KUWAIT: A policeman and his friend were arrested with possession of drugs, said security sources, noting that the policeman begged his 'colleagues' to release him. "I am your colleague and work in a police station," he pleaded in vain.

Visa violator caught

Farwaniya detectives arrested an Egyptian man who had arrived in Kuwait on a visit visa five years earlier and had been hiding in Hasawi. Security sources said the suspect was arrested at a checkpoint, where he did not have an ID, so he was taken to the police station. Checking on him, detectives found that he had arrived on a visit visa in 2012 and never left.

Drug possession

Four Syrians were arrested in Hawally with illicit pills. Security sources said a police patrol stopped the suspects' vehicle and found all of them were under the influence, before the vehicle was searched and the pills were found.

Accident

Two men, Bangladeshi and Egyptian, were rushed to Farwaniya Hospital with injuries they sustained when their vehicles collided in Jleeb Al-Shuyiukh. A case was filed to investigate the circumstances which led to the accident.

Fight

Three citizens and three Yemenis were rushed to Mubarak Hospital with various injuries and stab wounds they sustained when they fought using blades at a Salmiya shopping mall. Security sources said the fight started when one of the citizens, who was drunk, insulted the three Yemenis. The sources added that on searching the citizen's vehicle, police found a bottle of whiskey. A case was filed and further investigations are in progress.

Physical assault

A citizen was arrested for assaulting his Kuwaiti girlfriend because she left an apartment he rented for her without informing him. The girlfriend explained that the assailant had promised to marry her, adding his attack on her was due to jealousy. On summoning the suspect, he verified her story, and was detained pending further investigations.

Arrest warrant

A warrant was issued to summon a 60-year-old female citizen to be interrogated over charges of assaulting another female citizen, assisted by a third female citizen, at a restaurant in Adan. Security sources said the suspect did not answer their calls and refused going to the police station.

Thefts

A citizen reported that an unidentified robber climbed into his house and stole KD 7,000 in cash, in addition to his housemaids' passports. A case was filed for investigations. Meanwhile, an Egyptian man working for a 'VIP' woman reported that an unidentified robber had stolen two generators from her farm in Qashaniya. - Translated from the Arabic press
