KUWAIT: A fireman extinguishes a blaze in a Salmiya flat.

KUWAIT: A fire broke out in a Salmiya building, said security sources, noting that firefighters rushed to the scene and found an Asian couple injured in the building yard after they jumped from the second floor balcony to escape the blaze. The building was evacuated and the fire was controlled. Further investigations are in progress to determine the cause of the fire.

KFSD inspects Avenues systems

Kuwait Fire Services Directorate inspected The Avenues to check fire extinguishers in the fourth phase of the project and make sure they match KFSD guidelines, said KFSD's deputy director for prevention affairs Maj Gen Khaled Abdullah Fahd, noting that the inspection included extinguishers, water pumps, ventilation systems, gas fittings and firefighting systems.
