KUWAIT: A local court yesterday set a hearing to be held on November 5th to discuss a first-of-its-kind case to ever be filed in Kuwait, demanding that Twitter be blocked in the country, well-informed sources said. Lawyer Anwar Al-Jabali had filed the case on grounds that Twitter had 'turned into an out-of-control destruction tool,' and that the government is incapable of stopping fake accounts that have been slandering many people.

Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Dherar Al-Assousi yesterday referred a ruling family member to the criminal court demanding his punishment for verbally abusing and threatening traffic police officer Saleh Al-Rashed through a voice recording.

In other news, Head of Jahra committee at the Municipal Council Ahmad Hedayyan urged the deputy director responsible for cleaning companies contracted by Kuwait Municipality to follow up the work of departments under his supervision. Hedayyan added that garbage has been accumulating in Jahra streets for some time, garbage containers are so old and that cleaning companies have not been doing their work.
