KUWAIT: Farwaniya police arrested the Bangladeshi leader of a vendors' mafia at the "thieves market" in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The suspect used to 'rent' out hawking areas to vendors. Legal procedures are being taken to deport him from the country. The "thieves market" in Jleeb is full of sellers of vegetables and stolen material, and posed a major worry for police. So a plan was made to keep the market under surveillance. Based on a tip, the task force went there and arrested the suspect, who attempted to flee. The other hawkers at the place ran away.

KUWAIT: Fruits confiscated during a recent municipality crackdown on roaming vendors.

Crackdown: Mubarak Al-Kabeer general cleanliness department's director Melfi Al-Houli said a campaign resulted in issuing 16 citations while spoilt fruits and vegetables were destroyed.
